🌲🌊🚗 Oregon is one of the only places on Earth where the geography itself feels slightly unhinged… and honestly that's exactly why people love it.
Because somebody looked at a state with volcanoes, rainforests, deserts, mountains, rivers, and an entire rugged coastline and said:
"You know what? Let's put millions of people here."
And somehow it worked. 😭
Oregon basically contains:
• dramatic Pacific coastline
• endless evergreen forests
• snow-capped mountains
• high desert landscapes
• farm country
• college towns
• rivers everywhere
• remote wilderness
• and at least one elk currently staring at a car like it owns the road. 🦌💀
The Oregon Coast feels like an entirely different world:
• giant sea stacks rising from the ocean
• lighthouses everywhere
• beaches that stretch forever
• storms that look cinematic
• fishing towns full of character
• locals who still know the best hidden viewpoints 😭
Then you head into the Cascades:
• towering volcanoes
• alpine lakes so blue they look edited
• waterfalls around every corner
• forests that seem endless
• hiking trails that never disappoint
• roads that make you pull over every five minutes for photos 📸
Then Eastern Oregon becomes pure wide-open magic:
• rolling ranchland
• deep canyons
• high desert sunsets
• tiny towns miles apart
• dark skies filled with stars
• people who think a two-hour drive is "right down the road" 😭
Meanwhile the Columbia River is just sitting there quietly containing:
• massive cliffs
• hidden waterfalls
• windsurfers everywhere
• historic landmarks
• enough scenery to make photographers emotional
• and weather that can change completely in twenty minutes 💀
Then there's Portland.
• food carts everywhere
• coffee culture on another level
• bridges crossing the river
• neighborhoods with their own personalities
• bicycles everywhere
• somebody explaining the difference between five different local coffee roasts 😭
And somehow... the weather.
One minute:
• sunshine
The next minute:
• clouds
Then:
• rain
Then somehow:
• sunshine again
All before lunch. ☔🌤️😭
Oregon is the kind of place where you can stand on a beach in the morning, hike through a rainforest in the afternoon, and watch the sunset over a desert by evening.
And somehow the people who live there act like that's completely normal. 🌲🌊🏔️💀
