We are still not quite open, but in the meanwhile, I'm posting today about something very personal to me.
These are my kids. You may know my daughter as Miss Kittenpants. Her name is Kendall. This is my son, Logan. (That other mug is me.)
Both -- yes, BOTH-- of my own bio kids are on chemotherapy. Read that again. BOTH of these beautiful, smart, endearing kids are on chemo. Miss Kittenpants was diagnosed in February with leukemia. Logan was diagnosed July 2019 with a rare tumor that is treated with daily chemo pills.
Your business is important to me. Without your business, I have no law firm. I love advocating for you. Ultimately, though, this law firm exists for the benefit of my family . . . of these kids. Just like your work benefits your family. The importance of your business is always front of mind. But these kids. These kids are really important to me.
For the benefit of my immunocompromised kids, and for our collective loved ones who are at greater risk, I ask that when you come to my business, you wear a mask, use hand sanitizer, and practice social distancing.
This isn't about politics. This isn't about being a slave to fear. In my office, we will neither bash the president nor declare COVID-19 an elaborate hoax. We will respect each other. We will be tolerant of each other's views. We will stand in the broad middle ground between the extreme viewpoints, and we will do business like the decent human beings we are. Decent human beings with masks on, that is.
If you don't want to wear a mask, I will happily refer you to another of the highly qualified lawyers in Ennis or greater Ellis County.
I care about you, and I care about your business. I hope we can navigate through the remainder of this pandemic with mutual care and respect.
Most sincerely, Logan & Kittenpants' mom
