I dig when spots around town evolve under the same ownership over the years!! Super stoked to swing by the ribbon cutting this am and congratulate Ryan and his family🤙🏽 Another friendly reminder to all of us that it’s really important we all continue to support the smaller locally owned establishments in this town. Supporting the smaller ones allows them to stay in business or potentially grow and provide jobs for community members that live in this city. It sometimes even leads to prices remaining lower for the goods and services we need. Not always, of course, but ideally. It’s a concept that is constantly challenged, but I like to think it’s still alive and well around here. On that note, I’m not sure of all the tenants, but I know is moving over to the new location. Good news!! The mural on the side by is incredible!!! I was mind surfing it the other day while I waited for some soup from 🥣 Cheers to the Shatto’s for making it happen. I look forward to passing by on my way to check the surf for another 100 years or so. Btw…how rad is this shot of Ryan’s dads old car!!! So epic. You know where to go for your custom shirts. Why invest in real estate? Because it’s the best way I know to provide a consistent return on your hard earned money. It might mean moving away from the beach a little to help with the affordability, but it’s worth it in the long run. It might mean skipping the fancy dinners to save up for that down payment, but it is possible. If you are thinking about it please send me a DM or give me a ring, so we can look into the options for you to get started. I read a quote the other day from someone paying respect to an old managers advice: “20 years from now, the only people that will remember you worked late are your kids” It’s a heavy quote for someone that sees things the way I do, but it’s also a call to action to try and help as many people as I can invest in real estate. I had an awesome little lunch date with my #2 girl today! So stoked to support small businesses like and as I cruise around this awesome town. I’m gonna make a sequence with the butterfly mural and have them frame it as our baby girl grows up. No rush, though 😂 make it a great day, everyone!!

Guess the spot??
C’mon this is an easy one. A spot I’m sure we’ve all been to a ton of times. When I bumped into a guy visiting from New York the other day and he asked, “where’s that classic little breakfast diner on the corner?” I knew just where he was talking about and gave him directions. When my Mom’s in town we tend to go there. When Michael Andrew came back from winning his gold medal in the Olympics I ran into him and he said, “It’s the first place I went to get a meal when I got back in town.” It’s been a staple of the community for almost as long as I’ve been alive. I remember when Hendrix was born and not sleeping well, It was the only place open a few of those early mornings on the 101. I recall asking the cook, “what time do you open?” His response,”See that truck? Well, I’m the cook, so if you see that truck we’re open” So classic. I’ll admit I was a little sad walking out with the crew yesterday for our last time, but I went over and gave him a fist bump and said,”Thank you so much for all the meals over the years. I’ve been coming here since before I even had a family to feed”. We both smiled and I’m grateful to have had all those good times in that little diner with family and friends. I heard today is the last day, so if you are thinking about it you better head in there one last time. I’m not sure if I have the solution, but I wish there was something we could do to help preserve this rad community a little bit more. I know we can all make sure we go to these old mom and pop style small businesses, instead of the trendy new spot opening another location. Maybe we can vote for people that care like I do, or the current council and mayor can come up with some solutions? I think it’s changing a little too quick for this old man. I guess that’s part of growing up, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it 😂 Anyways, Make it a great day, Everyone! - Josh

Welcome to the team Rob Franks!🤙🏽 It’s a pleasure to have such a solid guy join our crew down I’ve known Rob for a few years now and he brings a special skill set to our brokerage. People ask me why I love camping so much. Well, it’s a place I go so my kids can be kids, and not ask me about screen time for a few days. Instead, they run and jump and get dirty and we all go to bed around 8:30 most evenings. Also, scroll to the right to see a magical photo I got over the weekend at a friends house of Eden and I. Wow 💕 🙏 😃 😢 Sometimes I think I might be the luckiest man in the world. My AC might not work in my truck, but I’m beyond thankful for everything that is working out on this incredible journey. Been busy with work, but wanted to share some photos of our incredible time spent 5 minutes from home at Carlsbad campground. We watched shooting stars, whittled sticks, surfed a ton, enjoyed sunsets with friends, roasted s’mores around the fire, etc. It’s funny to me how many folks say they want to live on the water, but aren’t into camping or Rv’ing. Really? I know I trade waves with a lot more people that camp oceanfront, than those that live in the oceanfront homes. If you haven’t seen the nightly light show they are doing at you should make a point to go over there and grab a pizza to check it out. Eden loved it!!❤️Maybe it’s about how my dad died before he got the chance to retire, but I’m glad I realized how important it is to prioritize your life around your own definition of success before I got old. I’m going to live to at least 150, but if I were to write some words for my tombstone I’d want to say, “He worked just enough to spend a lot of time with his family and kids while they were young to watch them grow up”. Wow...I’m so tremendously thankful to live this life that it just about brings a tear to my eye as I write this post. I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving too and realize how much we all have to be thankful for every single day we are breathing. 🙏 ❤️

Have you ever been to ?
Place is so rad!! If you are ever looking for an epic piece of wood, or a live edge slab, to build something with you should check it out. Brian and his crew can also build something for you with the wood you buy. I actually went down because Julie and I have been talking about building our own custom headboard. I found just the right piece of Redwood. I’m super excited to get started on my project. There’s just something about making things with your hands every once in a while when you carve out the time. I’ve got so much respect for the people that do it all the time, much better than me, but you’d be surprised what you can do if you just make it happen. Great little coffee spot they opened next door too🤙🏽
