Blass has been representing public safety employees for over 18 years. He has extensive experience in law enforcement matters as a former Deputy Chief of Police with over 20 years experience. He is a graduate of Northwestern University's School of Police Staff & Command and represents over 1,500 police officers in contract negotiations, disciplinary proceedings and shootings as the General Counsel

for the Illinois Council of Police Union. He has also been a guest lecturer in Public Employment Law at Lewis University's Graduate School of Criminal/Social Justice. His municipal practice is an extension of his work defending law enforcement officers. Blass is a former Trustee and Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals in Berkeley, Illinois and has represented the Zoning Board of Appeals in the Village of Bellwood as well. He is also a certified Administrative Hearing Officer. Blass has a unique perspective to criminal defense as a law enforcement officer and former Special Prosecutor and utilizes his background to zealously represent his clients in traffic matters, DUI and felony offenses in the counties of DuPage, Cook, Lake, Will, Kendall and DeKalb.
