Good news!

I'm happy to see the House of Delegates unanimously pass legislation that will move estate notices from increasingly monopolistic and unreliable print publications - almost all of which are owned and operated by out-of-state corporations and misprint notices on a weekly, if not daily, basis - to the Registers' website at no cost to the public. This will save Maryland families nearly $1.7 million per year in publication costs while preserving and protecting the due process rights of interested parties, who receive notice directly from the Registers of Wills.

Thanks to Delegate Elizabeth Embry for sponsoring this important bill and my colleagues for their support. On to the State Senate!
