After the trial…

So, this is kind of a big deal for a lot of people- the Washington Supreme Court today declared Washington's drug possession law unconstitutional because it criminalizes unknowing possession. Thousands of people tonight facing felony drug possession charges are breathing a sigh of relief, as those charges will be dismissed. People in jail serving time for simple possession will be released. It remains to be seen whether prior convictions can be expunged, but I suspect the answer is "Yes." The decision, State v.
