20 years ago today I was sworn in to practice law. Two decades later, I can say it has been a much different practice and legal community than I imagined before I was neck-deep in it. I have had great joys, shared woeful sorrows, and seen so much in between. Will the next 20 years go as fast? What will society change for us to adapt to as a profession? From legalizing certain drugs and virtual court, who knows, but the first 20 years covered a lot. I miss several lawyers and judges we have lost, or who have retired, and I want to say thank you to those I get to work with so often. This job has changed me, I’ve changed what I do and how I do it, but where I am is exactly where I’m supposed to be.

As a solo practitioner, I strive to provide my clients with immediate personal attention for their legal needs. Regular office hours for my staff and I are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Evening and weekend appointments are available by requesting scheduling. For existing clients, I am available by email, text and cell phone. I make every effort to return inquiries after-hours and on weekends, as I am able, because I understand that legal issues do not stop at the close of the business day.

As a Listed Rule 31 Family Law Mediator by the Tennessee Supreme Court, I enjoy the opportunity to assist families in conflict attempt to reach out of court resolutions. Mediation is a confidential, voluntary and informal process which is often quicker and less expensive than litigation. It also affords the parties a measure of control that is lost when issues are left to the Court to decide. Being licensed in Tennessee and Virginia since 2003, I bring a wealth of experience to assist the parties evaluating the strengths and issues of their particular positions, all with a hope of finding a resolution to meet the needs of those involved.

Family Law Matters:

Every case is different and unique. No divorce or custody situation is the same for any two people or family. By practicing in both Tennessee and Virginia, I have litigated domestic law cases in many jurisdictions, before many different judges, meeting the specific needs of thousands of clients. Creative problem solving for your issue is an essential part of zealous representation.
