This goes way past reckless driving.

That truck driver was all over the road, and the driver who had to swerve to avoid a head-on collision is lucky to be alive.

Ignoring a New Jersey ticket does not make it disappear. It makes it grow.

Skip the payment or the response and the municipal court can move toward suspending your license. Miss a required court date and you risk a failure to appear notice or even a bench warrant.

From there it snowballs. Restoration fees, a $250 surcharge per year for three years, and a separate charge under NJSA 39:3-40 if you get caught driving on a suspended license. That charge is far worse than the ticket that started it.

A NJ DUI arrest is not a NJ DUI conviction.

There are three places where these cases actually break down for the state: the stop, the breath test, and the procedure.

If the officer did not have reasonable suspicion to pull you over, the evidence can be excluded. If the 20-minute observation period was not followed, the Alcotest result can be challenged. If calibration records or operator certification have gaps, the number on the page loses its weight.
