🚨 USCIS GREEN CARD MEMO UPDATE 🚨
After significant concern from attorneys and immigrant communities nationwide, USCIS appears to be softening its message regarding the recent Adjustment of Status policy memo.
A USCIS spokesperson has stated that the policy is not intended to be a blanket change and “will not prevent” individuals who legitimately qualify from obtaining a green card.
However, there is an important catch:
⚠️ USCIS has not issued any formal guidance explaining how officers should apply this clarification.
⚠️ The policy memo itself remains in effect.
⚠️ Attorneys are still seeing increased scrutiny of discretionary factors in some cases.
What does this mean for applicants?
The law has not changed. Qualified applicants can still obtain permanent residence. But strong documentation, evidence of positive equities, and careful case preparation remain more important than ever.
We are continuing to monitor developments closely and will provide updates as additional guidance becomes available.
If you have a pending I-485 application or are planning to file, now is the time to ensure your case is as strong as possible.
