The best thing you can do is gather your documentation early. That may include your contract, proof of delivery, invoices, communications, and anything else showing that you did what you were supposed to do.

If you win the chargeback dispute, you keep the money. If you lose, you may still have options, including filing a small claims case when the amount is a few hundred or a few thousand dollars.

There is a legal mistake business owners often do not see coming:
Assuming that because someone else caused the damage, they can simply wait and recover everything later.

That is not always how litigation works.

The law may expect you to take reasonable steps to reduce the harm. If you do not, the other side may argue that part of your damages should not be recoverable.
