Law Office of Leonard Morales Criminal Defense and Family Law Practice I am primarily a Trial Lawyer. I am a retired US Army Judge Advocate (Army Lawyer).

This means I actually fight cases in Court in front of Juries and Judges on a regular basis. I have extensive experience in State Court Trials, Federal Court and Military Court's Martial. I practice in Federal Courts, State Courts and Military Courts Martial. I also represent people in the areas of Divorce, Child Custody and Child Support, Adoptions, Child Protective Services Cases. I also handle

appeals in all those areas. I represent people in various civil cases against City, State or the US Government and Military administrative law cases; like administrative separations.

Interesting development. I’ll be taking a close look at the Supreme Court’s opinion and we’ll have to see how this plays out. The Supreme Court says prosecutors must prove that people charged with violating federal gun laws knew they were not allowed to have a weapon. The government says the decision could affect thousands of prosecutions of convicted criminals who are barred from having a firearm.

Good news indeed! This program imposed surcharges on Texas drivers who did things like driving without a license or driving under the influence regardless of whether they were ever convicted in a criminal court of the offense. These are those administrative fees that the DMV makes you pay to maintain your Texas Driver's License. The surcharges ranged from $250 per year for three years for driving with an invalid license up to $2,000 per year for three years for a DWI in which the driver is caught with a blood alcohol level of 0.16 — twice the legal limit — or higher. Drivers who accumulated too many points on their licenses for moving violations or moving violations resulting in a crash were also subject to surcharges. So with this program ending people who are now or were stuck with these payments and no DL - you are now eligible to get your license back if all you owe was fees.

Texas' Driver Responsibility Program, perhaps the most loathed program administered by the state, is no more. Friday afternoon, Texas Gov.
