to an inspiring evening celebrating Project Amistad's 50th anniversary and the incredible impact the organization has had on our El Paso community.
This year the Lucy G. Acosta Humanitarian Awards gala, which honors the legacy of co-founder Lucy G. Acosta, recognized the District IV LULAC Councils, whose leadership helped establish Project Amistad in 1976. From providing non-emergency medical transportation to offering more than 40 programs today, Project Amistad has spent five decades serving thousands throughout our region.
We were especially honored to see Tawney, Acosta & Chaparro Partner Alex Acosta, Project Amistad's board president and Lucy Acosta's grandson, deliver the opening remarks, honoring a legacy of service that continues to inspire.
Congratulations to everyone who has helped make Project Amistad's first 50 years so meaningful - we're grateful to support an organization that continues to strengthen our El Paso community.
At Tawney, Acosta & Chaparro, we're proud to Project Amistad and support its mission to strengthen the El Paso community.
