The City of Edmond has activated Stage Two of its five-stage Water Conservation Plan, effective immediately. Under Stage Two, residents are required to shift from the year-round odd/even watering schedule to a two-day-per-week lawn watering schedule, determined by the last digit of their home or business address.
This adjustment is necessary due to increased water demand and current weather conditions. Edmond’s daily water use during low-use periods is typically 9 to 13 million gallons per day (MGD). During the last several days, demand has exceeded 22 MGD. Maintaining adequate water reserves and pressure is critical for public safety and firefighters’ ability to handle fire-related emergencies.
While the city prioritizes education and voluntary compliance with these restrictions, repeat violations may result in citations.
