Eric Haviland testified remotely on the Eastern Shore this week as an expert in dividing qualified domestic relations orders (QDRO's), and helped his client win a QDRO dispute saving $100k in gains and losses from dividing retirement accounts after divorce.

As a Parenting Coordinator, Laura Haviland is working with parents to identify areas of conflict and proactively implement strategies to reduce that conflict which studies confirm reduces the toxic stress experienced by children of separation and divorce.

As an experienced divorce and custody trial lawyer, Laura knows that litigation can be stressful, emotionally and financially, on children and parents. Laura and her staff are committed to promoting peaceful resolutions through alternative dispute resolutions, such as mediation and collaborative law.

Eric A. Haviland serves as the Managing Director. In addition to managing the firm, Eric focuses his practice on the preparation of Domestic Relations Orders and the division of retirement assets pertaining to divorce. He provides individual mediation services, as well as co-mediation with Laura. Eric’s deep knowledge of issues related to state and federal taxation, Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, healthcare, division of retirement assets, and family law, provides him with the foundation to guide his clients through the most complex cases.

Michelle E. Kelly Donovan serves as an Associate Attorney. Michelle, a native of Montgomery County, Maryland, received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park and her law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
