US Housing Prices Keep Climbing
After six decades helping clients navigate real estate on the central coast, I’ve seen the market’s ups and downs—but one thing holds true: when there aren’t enough homes for the buyers out there, prices stay strong. Even as the post-pandemic rush settled, we’re still seeing that classic supply-and-demand push, with limited inventory keeping values high in many areas. Some communities with more new construction and less demand are starting to see homes linger and buyers have a bit more room to negotiate, but overall, demand hasn’t let up—despite rising mortgage rates. Nationally, sales have actually increased, which speaks to the steady strength of jobs and incomes. The big question ahead is affordability: incomes are finally outpacing home prices, but those higher mortgage rates are still giving buyers pause. As a family team with decades of perspective, we keep a close watch on how these trends play out for our clients and neighbors.
