Today is the day!!!
Menstrual Hygiene Day has been observed annually on May 28 since 2014. The concept was conceived to reinforce that menstrual health is a fundamental aspect of human rights, dignity, and public health. Now every year, all year, Dignity Divas lead the charge to educate, empower, and transform the conversation around menstrual health.
May 28 holds symbolic meaning: May is the 5th month of the year, the average menstrual cycle length is approximately 5 days per month, and the menstrual cycle averages 28 days.

Good period hygiene is crucial for the health, well-being, and empowerment of women and girls worldwide. It also plays a critical role in enabling women and girls to reach their full potential by ensuring consistent attendance in school, at work, and all the places women and girls show up daily. The goal is to create a world where menstruation is a normal part of life and everyone can manage their periods in a healthy and dignified manner.
