Effective 11/1/24, Attorney Kris Parker has accepted a new position at a different firm and has departed H&P. Hendry & Parker will close and Don Hendry will partner with Attorney Andrew Mallory to form a new firm, Hendry & Mallory, P.A.

It's that time of year - kids are back to school and those yellow school busses are back on the road. Do you know when you need to stop for them?
When you're on the road and see a school bus with flashing red lights and an extended stop sign, it's crucial to STOP -- no matter which direction you're coming from.
These graphics from the Florida Department of Transportation explain when you need to stop, when to proceed with caution, as well as the penalty you could be looking at if you decide not to stop.
The short version:
• Two-lane road: All vehicles must stop.
• Multi-lane paved across (no median): All lanes must stop.
• Divided highway with an unpaved space (5+ feet), raised median, or physical barrier: Only traffic following the bus must stop. Opposing traffic can proceed with caution.
The penalty for illegally passing a stopped school bus that is displaying a stop signal is $200. Illegally passing on the side children enter/exit is $400.
So, think twice about passing a school bus. Stop for school busses and keep our kids safe.
