Today I had a great call with a leader who is driving a community for agents. She said that one of the top questions for support is around outreach.

“what do I say and when do I say it?” …

My head always goes to “who am I saying it to?”

If you don’t know who you are talking to, you have no idea what to say, what questions to ask, and what outcomes you need.

Database cleanliness, awareness, and segments are super key to success with your business. So many real estate professionals that I meet with have no idea what the health of their DB is… the just know that “it needs to be better.”

Start with what you know is true about your database, get them into segments or pools, then begin outreach to validate that data, then gain understanding from that outreach and go deeper.

Once you have that… you’ll know who you are speaking with, what to say, and when to say it.

Real estate is shifting right now.

Higher interest rates moving to lower. Low inventory.

Commission conversations changing.

AI entering the industry.

Because of this, the agents winning right now aren’t the ones chasing the most leads.

They’re the ones having the most conversations with the people already in their world.

Your database isn’t just a list. It’s your biggest opportunity if you have the right plan to work it.

It's incredible to me how many Real Estate professionals are drowning in tech fatigue. Financially, operationally, educationally, it's unreal.

The last 10 years+ have been filled with an overwhelming amount of new tech companies creating platforms that "solve problems". While this is a natural progression for all industries, the deficit I am seeing in Real Estate Tech is the number of companies that have great intentions and dreams... but never really put the thought into questioning what creating these platforms means for a client long term.

Here are questions I feel are missing: "Who is our ACTUAL perfect client product fit?", "How do we as a company want to show up on our clients' P&L not just today, but in 2 years?", "Am I creating something that will drive more profitability for them long term?", "What is it like being on the otherside of our platform as a client/contact/prospect for my customers", "Is what I am creating helping my clients, or is it just helping my ego as a creator of this company"

There is a common theme that I have personally been seeing with the hundreds of teams, agents, and brokerages that I have the honor of speaking with. Lack of pre-thought is leading to huge trust gaps with real estate tech and real estate professionals, and justifiably so.
