Happy Labor Day! We're proud to work with good people who keep Kansas running. To celebrate, each office team decorated their doors with a special theme. Our team chose construction—and they went all out! Here’s a look at their work.

"I’m honored to serve as KTLA President for 2025-2026! From the outset, we face a critical vote in August 2026 that could change how our Supreme Court is selected. With our courts under pressure, we need to organize and work as one team to protect our clients and our justice system. With this goal in mind, we’re uniting our committees with clear roles, strong communication, and a shared mission. Growing our membership is also key—more voices mean more strength, more ideas, and more impact. It is time for each of us to step up and make a difference. Working together, we are a strong!" ~Phillip Slape, Work Comp Attorney

This week we honor the legacy of Sandra Day O’Connor, the first woman to be confirmed as Supreme Court Justice. Justice O’Connor was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on July 7, 1981, and the U.S. Senate confirmed her nomination unanimously.

During Rachel’s presidential year, KTLA continued its membership and financial growth, and she helped expand programming by adding staff. Under Rachel’s leadership, KTLA began one of its toughest battles to protect merit selection and the Kansas Supreme Court. Rachel led by example and encouraged members to achieve professional excellence as trial lawyers and business owners. She challenged members to become more involved in KTLA and in their communities, and we are stronger as a result.

We recognize and commend Rachel for her personal dedication to the values of trial lawyers and the cause of justice and for her significant contributions to KTLA. Thank you for your service as KTLA President, Rachel!
