Hello Grade A New Yorkers🗽

Saturday, April 25th marks the 3rd annual FinLit Youth Conference. Founded by Shanisha Dixon-Tyrell, the FinLit Youth Conference gives people of all age ranges the opportunity to learn more about their financial decisions. Teens, parents, teachers, grandparents, even babies showed up to this event.

Hello Grade A New Yorkers 🗽We made it to the Jobs NYC Hiring Hall at Brooklyn Army Terminal! 🌍✨ A huge shoutout to Workforce1 for hosting such a well-organized, Earth Day-inspired job fair — this was our first invite and networking event with you all, and it absolutely will NOT be the last! 🙌

A very special thank you to George Lopez — yes, THAT George Lopez from Workforce1 😂 — it was so wonderful seeing you again! Since we first met back in November, you have been nothing but a ray of sunshine for City Lyfe Inc. Because of you, we’ve been able to offer our Grade A New Yorkers a little bit more insight into what the NYC job / training market has to offer — giving them firsthand feedback and real opportunities. You’ve connected us to so many incredible resources, and we are truly grateful to have encountered you on our journey to being resourceful. ☀️❤️

Shoutout to the incredible service providers in the building:
💚 Elmcor Youth & Adult Activities, Inc. — This one hit close to home. I’m from East Elmhurst, and my sister and I spent so much time there growing up. It warmed my heart to see you still flourishing in the community and seeking new ways to grow — showing up to a Brooklyn job fair is exactly that kind of resourcefulness. Love to see it! 🫶

🌅 Sunset Park Economics Mobility Network — Coming not to offer jobs but to survey the community on how THEY see employment? That’s the kind of listening that leads to real change. Brilliant approach.
