A new report from Realtor.com shows just how steep the climb has become for homebuyers:

👉 In 2019, the typical U.S. household needed far less income to afford a home.

👉 Today, they’d need to make $47,000 more per year just to cover the same roof over their heads.

In April, the median list price for a U.S. home hit $431,250.

To afford that (mortgage, taxes, insurance), a household now needs to earn about $114,000/year.

That’s a 70% jump in just six years.

Here’s the hard truth:

Even though rates and prices have stabilized a bit, many families are already priced out.

And no amount of skipping lattes or toast is going to bridge that gap.

Financial freedom starts with the big levers — not just small sacrifices.

If you’re navigating this market, focus on building your income, strengthening your credit, and stacking your cash.
