This is why we do what we do. 🙏

Every case that comes through our door is different, but the goal is always the same — make sure the people we work with feel heard, supported, and never alone in the process.

This week, a few of our clients took a moment to share their experience, and honestly, it means more to us than they probably know. Reviews like these aren't just kind words — they're a reminder of why Bruce started this firm 40 years ago, and why Winston is carrying that same mission forward today.

To everyone who's trusted us with their case: thank you. We don't take it lightly.

Forty years ago, Bruce Edwards made a promise to this community — that when life knocked someone down, they wouldn't have to get back up alone.

Since 1985, that promise has meant showing up for our neighbors in Douglas and across Georgia during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Car accidents. Truck wrecks. On-the-job injuries and workers' comp claims. Injuries that turned everything upside down overnight. Bruce has sat across the table from thousands of families, and every single time, it's been personal — because this is his home too.

Now, that same promise is being carried forward. Watching his son Winston grow into that role — learning not just the law, but the heart behind it — has been one of the greatest joys of Bruce's career. Same values. Same commitment to this community. A new generation ready to keep fighting for the people here.

Two Edwards. One mission that hasn't changed in 40 years: protecting injured Georgians like they're family.

Whether it's a car accident, a truck wreck, or an injury on the job, you don't have to face it alone. We're here — just like we've always been.

After a truck accident, injuries are not always immediate. Our team often sees clients develop symptoms like neck pain, back pain, headaches, dizziness, or numbness hours or even days after a crash. These delayed warning signs should never be ignored.

If you begin noticing new or worsening symptoms, seek medical care promptly and continue with consistent follow-up appointments. Delayed treatment can make recovery more difficult and may impact your claim.

Before speaking with a trucking company insurer, consider reaching out for legal guidance. As a Georgia truck accident lawyer, our team is here to help you understand your rights and protect your claim.

If you or someone you know has experienced delayed symptoms after a truck collision, share your experience or encourage them to get the help they need.

MEET YOUR ATTORNEY: BRUCE EDWARDS

Before he was fighting for injured workers across South Georgia, Bruce Edwards was learning what it means to lead.

From 1978 to 1982, Bruce attended the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League school, where he graduated summa cm laude, played football, served as team captain, and was president of his fraternity, Kappa Sigma. He went on to earn his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1985 — and began practicing law that same year.

For over 40 years, Bruce has focused on workers' compensation and personal injury law because he believes the average worker deserves the same fight a big company gets. When a hardworking Georgian gets hurt on the job and a big insurance company tries to deny what they're owed, Bruce believes they deserve someone in their corner who won't back down.

That's exactly what you get when you walk into our office. Not a case number — an advocate who's spent his whole career fighting for people like you.

After a crash involving a tractor-trailer, the right evidence can make a critical difference. Dash cam footage, photos, witness information, and detailed documentation of the scene help establish what really happened — but this evidence can disappear quickly, and trucking companies often move fast to protect themselves. Our team at Edwards Law encourages anyone involved in a serious truck accident in Georgia to seek legal help promptly. Preserving and securing key evidence early allows us to protect your rights and pursue the full compensation you deserve. If you have questions or need guidance after a truck accident, we’re here to help.

📚 Georgia Injury Law: Not Every Deadline Is the Same

One of the biggest misconceptions we see is that all injury cases have the same statute of limitations. They don't.

Here's a simple breakdown:

🚗 Personal Injury Claims
If you're injured because of someone else's negligence—such as in a car accident or a slip and fall—you generally have 2 years from the date of the injury to file a lawsuit in Georgia.

🏗️ Workers' Compensation Claims
Workers' compensation follows a different set of rules because it's a no-fault insurance system for workplace injuries.

Some of the most important deadlines include:
• You should notify your employer of your work injury within 30 days.
• In most cases, you must file a claim with the Georgia State Board of Workers' Compensation within 1 year of the injury (or from the last authorized medical treatment or income benefit payment, depending on the circumstances).

💡 Why does this matter?
Missing a deadline can seriously affect—or even eliminate—your ability to recover compensation or benefits. And because every situation is different, the timeline that applies to your case may not be as straightforward as it seems.

If you've been injured and have questions about your legal options, speaking with an attorney early can help ensure you don't miss an important deadline.

Determining who is responsible in a semi-truck crash is rarely straightforward. While the truck driver may be at fault, liability can also extend to the trucking company, the freight company, the vehicle’s owner, the maintenance contractor, or even the equipment manufacturer.

Because multiple parties may be involved, injured individuals should not assume their case is simple. Our team encourages anyone hurt in a truck accident to speak with a Georgia truck accident lawyer as soon as possible.

Edwards Law offers free consultations for those seeking guidance after a serious truck collision. Contact us today to discuss your case and learn how we can help.
