Your Child Came Home Hurt. The Daycare Has No Answers.
When your child comes home from daycare with an injury, you deserve more than, "It was just an accident."
If no one can explain what happened, who was supervising, or why your child was hurt, it's okay to ask questions. You're not overreacting—you're being a parent.
If your child was injured at a daycare, preschool, or childcare center, don't wait to document what you know.
Be sure to:
✔️ Write down everything your child tells you
✔️ Take photos of any injuries
✔️ Save emails and text messages with the daycare
✔️ Request a copy of the incident report
✔️ Ask whether surveillance footage exists
✔️ Keep records of any medical treatment
Acting quickly can help preserve important evidence, including security video, staff records, and other documentation that may explain what happened.
Many parents don't contact a daycare injury attorney because they want to file a lawsuit. They call because they want answers, accountability, and to make sure their child's rights are protected.
No parent should have to wonder what happened while their child was in someone else's care.
Every case is different. This is general information, not legal advice.
