Have you thought about buying a foreclosure home?
Right now, there are only 11 currently listed within 45 minutes of Dickson.
Foreclosures can look like a great deal on paper, but the process isn’t always easy or straightforward. A lot of times, utilities are turned off, which means if you want a full inspection, you may have to pay to have power and water turned on before you even own the home.
The seller usually has little to no information about the property. You won’t know when the septic was last pumped, if there are hidden condition issues, or what kind of maintenance was (or wasn’t) done. What you see is often what you get… and sometimes what you don’t see can be the expensive part.
That doesn’t mean foreclosures are a bad option — just that they come with extra risk and extra steps. If you’re considering one, it’s important to go in with eyes wide open and a solid plan.
If you’ve ever thought about going this route and want to talk through the pros, cons, and what to watch out for, I’m always happy to help.
