I wish I knew this when I bought my first home: the home inspection is basically your homeowner’s manual. 🏡
Before real estate, I was a teacher and I still approach this job the same way. A home inspection isn’t just a “did it pass?” moment. It’s one of the best opportunities to actually learn how your house works. Things like where the main water shutoff is, how often your HVAC filter should be changed, or what systems may need attention down the road.
I always encourage buyers to treat the inspection as a learning experience, not just a checklist. Understanding these details before you move in can save you a lot of stress and surprises later.
If you’re thinking about buying, having the right people around you to explain the details and answer questions makes all the difference. I’m always happy to help guide that process and make it feel a little less overwhelming.
