Martin Luther King Jr. reminds us that justice requires action, not silence. Today, LADA honors his legacy by continuing to stand for fairness and equal access to the legal system, and by supporting individuals and families as they navigate critical legal challenges.

Your generosity is strengthening families and communities.

To everyone who supported LADA on Giving Tuesday, thank you. Your generosity is already making a difference across Metro Detroit including Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.

And if you did not have a chance to give on December 2, we warmly invite you to make a year-end gift now. There is still time to help change lives.

Because of supporters like you, individuals and families continue to access free, life changing legal services that protect housing, secure services for veterans, and open pathways to stability through expungement.

Here is one example of the impact your generosity makes possible:

Earlier this year, LADA assisted a Metro Detroit resident whose past legal history was creating barriers to employment and housing. Although the underlying matter had long been resolved, it continued to limit opportunities. LADA reviewed eligibility, filed the necessary expungement petitions, and advocated on the client’s behalf. As a result, the individual was able to clear their record and move forward with new employment and housing opportunities.

Stories like his happen every day because of people who choose to support access to justice.

Whether you already gave on Giving Tuesday or choose to give now, every contribution helps extend justice, dignity, and hope to our neighbors.

Today is Giving Tuesday, a day when generosity becomes a powerful force for good.

By supporting LADA today, you stand with individuals and families across Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties who cannot afford legal representation but deserve fairness, dignity, and stability.

Your donation today fuels our work in:
-Preventing evictions and preserving safe housing
-Representing veterans in court
-Providing expungement services to expand access to jobs and housing

Earlier this year, LADA represented a Metro Detroit family who was at risk of losing their home due to a dispute tied to their land contract and property ownership. Without legal help, the family faced losing the house they had worked for over many years. LADA stepped in, challenged the improper legal actions, and helped the family ultimately save their home and protect their future.

This is what access to justice looks like — and it’s only possible because of supporters like you.

Be part of this global day of giving. Every dollar expands access to justice.
