During the July 13 program, our President & CEO, Michelle Johnson, discussed how Legal Aid and Defender Association provides free civil legal services to individuals and families who cannot afford legal representation. From preventing homelessness and promoting housing stability to serving veterans, protecting tenants' rights, assisting with expungements, and advocating for our most vulnerable neighbors, our work helps create stronger, more stable communities.
For more than 100 years, LADA has remained committed to ensuring access to justice for those who need it most.

We hope you’ll join Legal Aid and Defender Association (LADA) on Tuesday, July 21, for an evening supporting access to justice for individuals and families across Southeast Michigan.

The event will take place from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sexy Steak in Detroit and will feature wine, live jazz, and an opportunity to support LADA’s mission alongside community leaders, advocates, and supporters.

Every day, LADA works to help families secure safer and more stable living conditions through free civil legal services and advocacy.

One recent client, a single mother of two, came to LADA while living in unsafe housing conditions that included broken windows and hazardous bathroom fixtures that were injuring her children. With LADA’s guidance and advocacy, critical repairs were completed, helping create a safer home for her family.

For more than 100 years, LADA has provided free civil legal services to individuals and families across Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. Every case represents a life changed, and every ticket purchased helps continue that work.

Early Bird tickets are $150 per person through June 30. Ticket are $175 person beginning July 1.
