🚨 ATTENTION MICHIGAN VETERANS: Is the VA trying to cut your benefits?

The VFW Department of Michigan Service Office has caught the VA using illegal tactics to try and take away hard-earned benefits. Since early 2025, we have seen an alarming surge in "Proposals to Sever" or "Proposals to Reduce" service connection. Specifically, the VA is wrongly claiming they made a "Clear and Unmistakable Error" (CUE) to strip veterans of Mental Health conditions secondary to other conditions, often lazily citing unrelated respiratory rules (like 38 C.F.R. § 4.96) to do it.

If you have received a proposal to sever or reduce your benefits since early 2025—whether the VA finalized it or not—contact our Detroit office immediately. The legal threshold for the VA to take away an established benefit is astronomically high, and they are breaking their own rules. Let us review your paperwork and fight this for you.
