We would all be surprised at how little others value our stuff, except it fuels fighting among adult children after we are gone. It is worth asking your children what they want and writing it down. Perhaps no other single action can save siblings’ relationships.

This does not work in Colorado. A spouse is a spouse until there is a divorce decree, and Colorado family law prohibits moving assets once either party files for divorce. It is really difficult to disinherit a spouse in Colorado. We suggest discussing your options with counsel before you are in Larry's shoes.
