Thank you for having me !
It feels great being back in New Orleans full-time, and I love getting the opportunity to teach. This time around I’m framing things as *protecting your investment* — because that’s what your art is. You pour your heart, soul, pain, and love into your craft; knowing how to work with copyrights and contracts is how you prevent others from unfairly taking your investment away from you or diluting its value. Hit me up if you want to learn more about how to navigate this crazy complicated entertainment business.
PS it was total coincidence that they put my workshop in a classroom of basses — but you know I’m not going to have a problem with that!

Is New Orleans on your mind lately? Maybe you’re at Jazz Fest or wish you were? Now is a great time to have NOLA on your mind, because we are just days away from Day! This year is a special one for me, because I recently joined the board of and we could use your support!
Court 13 Arts is a New Orleans-based nonprofit working to grow and sustain New Orleans’ cinema culture by advancing visual literacy, fostering creative education, and inspiring community-driven collaboration. We do this through the weekly Gap Tooth Cinema screenings (come out to the next one May 7 at !), providing affordable studio spaces to artists at our Franklin St warehouse, offering fiscal sponsorships and mentorships to filmmakers, and by building community spaces for filmmakers and artists to connect.
In 2025, we’re fundraising not only to sustain our ongoing programming, but also to bring back the Festival!
Early giving is now open, and Give NOLA Day is Tuesday, May 6. We would love to have your support and include you in our community!

Friday 12/13 at - I’m hosting a pop-up legal clinic for music producers, songwriters, musicians, managers, and other people interested in getting the most out of music royalties and licensing opportunities. Lunch provided, so get there early and I’ll give you a walkthrough of registering copyrights, getting set up with a PRO, SoundExchange, and the MLC, and how to collect ALL your available revenues from your music. Plus - exclusive for attendees - get access to template contracts that help you keep track of all of your song splits! Having your paperwork in order opens the door to synch and other licensing opportunities. This workshop will teach you how to be ready so you don’t leave money on the table or have opportunities pass you by!

New York 2024 was my favorite cannabis networking event so far! The energy and enthusiasm and sense of community among the upstate cannabis community was palpable. I really enjoyed the various conversations I had with people from Albany, Rochester, Syracuse, lower Hudson Valley, and elsewhere. 2024 seems to be a time for turning a corner in NY — and 2025 is poised to be even better. After making some great connections on the floor, is ready to be in the middle of it all!

The jewel of the weekend came at the end of day 1 — starting with some excellent conversation with ex-OCM attorneys Danielle Holmes and Patricia Heer, we made our way to afterparty at the lounge.

What an incredible gathering! Women truly are leading the way in cannabis, building community, strengthening bonds, and really making this New York “market” feel more like a family. I got to meet Lindsay (check out - phenomenal chocolate!), which was a great hang. Then with some speed-networking encouragement from Tanya , I connected with Maria / REV Promos and April / on arts and music. As the evening wound down, and I had a great conversation about packaging compliance (she is the Queen of Compliance™ after all), which quickly led to an impromptu group dinner with a varied cast, including Sheri and April, plus , Ryan Lepore of , and .

Special thanks to Eric Vinal of the Syracuse Fi - he picked me up at 8:30 even though he’s not a morning person, and gave me a tour of ’ facilities and Studio Central Post / . Between cannabis and film, there’s a lot of cool stuff happening in upstate in general and Syracuse in particular, and Eric is a big part of that.

Thank you to Marc Shepard and the NECANN team for having me speak on in the cannabis industry. I’m looking forward to the conversations and collaborations that come out of this year’s show!

My first was a blast! This pic is from the absolute most fun moment, but I had an incredible time talking about music rights, royalties, new kinds of revenue streams for artists, tools that make it easier for artists to collect their money, AI music, music and videogame opportunities, tools that make it easier for artists’ managers and their attorneys to help with the rights administration, new instruments and recording devices, and so much more with old friends and many amazing new acquaintances. Congrats to New Orleans’ own .audio for winning the pitch competition and to the .pr team for an incredible event! I’m looking forward to all the great follow up conversations that will be happening over the next few weeks and months. Already have so many ideas cooking for how we at can better serve musicians and help make them more money.

The calm before the storm…
I’m very excited and honored to be invited to speak at some events later this month and next month. Mix in a few other conferences that I’m interested in attending for the first time, and…suddenly it’s a very busy Q4! Nov 6-7: Entertainment Law Negotiation Competition. First time being asked to be a judge for something like this, but excited to connect with fellow Tulane alumni working in entertainment, and to give back to my alma mater in the first meaningful way of my life so far.
