From Louis Brandeis, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan to Leah Litman, these are just some of the distinguished Jewish Americans who shaped and are shaping the cause of justice and equality in the United States.

This weekend marked the 72nd anniversary of the landmark 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision, in which a unanimous Supreme Court ruled racial segregation in education unconstitutional. What should have been a celebration of the progress and justice embodied in that decision was overshadowed by this Supreme Court's 6-3 decision in Louisiana v. Callais, which overturned the remaining shreds of the Voting Rights Act and has plunged the upcoming midterm elections into chaos. Protestors filled the streets of Southern cities to call attention to the injustice of the Callais decision, which surely will mark a dark moment in the history of the country. The team at ZLG stands with and will continue to stand with justice, equality and freedom - and we send our support to all of those who find themselves marching and protesting for rights which truly should have been self-evident.

She makes complex legal processes more manageable and prides herself on her responsiveness to every case, and on building genuine connections so clients feel informed and supported. She’s also a Notary Public, including remote notarizations, Lisa delivers efficient, reliable case management with a personal touch. Outside of work, she enjoys spoiling her two grandchildren and her dogs, Abbie and Trixie.

Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated 58 years ago today. His last speech was delivered on April 3rd, 1968: "All we say to America is, "Be true to what you said on paper." If I lived in China or even Russia, or any totalitarian country, maybe I could understand some of these illegal injunctions. Maybe I could understand the denial of certain basic First Amendment privileges, because they hadn't committed themselves to that over there. But somewhere I read of the freedom of assembly. Somewhere I read of the freedom of speech. Somewhere I read of the freedom of press. Somewhere I read that the greatness of America is the right to protest for right.1 And so just as I say, we aren't going to let dogs or water hoses turn us around, we aren't going to let any injunction turn us around. We are going on. We need all of you." His words are as true today as they were the day he spoke them. Rest in Power.
