Dividing assets during a divorce is never a pleasant process. Add a home sale to it and highly contentious spouses can get cutthroat in an already stressful time.

Often one spouse out of anger, can slow the whole process down by being difficult with chosen listing price, how and when showings are scheduled and whether or not to accept an offer just to delay the process out of spite. This can end up costing both parties, in the bottom line.

In worst case scenarios, these skirmishes may even lead to you selling the house for less than it’s worth.

I’m a consultant. I REFER THE MAJORITY OF MY DIVORCE LISTING BUSINESS OUT- to the agent that I feel is the right agent for THAT particular sale. As a veteran in the industry, licensed as an “Employing Broker” since 1996, I have forged solid relationships with many of the “top” agents in the Denver Metro Area..and around the country!

My pre-listing consultation is designed to get a feel for the potential home sellers motivation, need , desired outcome and then match them with the right agent for the job that:

specializes in their specific area and housing type

has PERSONAL experience and TRAINING with the process of divorce

has a personality and style that is well suited for the home sellers

Is a FULL TIME and reputable agent with stats to BACK UP that claim

I provide up to three recommendations for the home seller to interview.

With 24 years of experience as a Realtor, personal divorce background, multiple Life Coaching certifications and training as a Certified Divorce Coach, through CDC, I am another tool and recourse in the home selling process for home owners, agents and their clients. Often I am sought out by Realtors to help mitigate tensions between home sellers that arise from the time a house is listed on the market up until the property is sold and closed on.

A home sale where divorce is the catalyst, is not your typical transaction. This often is a much more challenging sales process with heightened emotions, court issued deadlines and the sale of one of your biggest assets. You need a seasoned agent with the training and background to help couples manage their emotions and keep them on track while working towards a successful sale.

Choosing the right real estate professional for listing a home for sale as a result of divorce, is imperative. This is not the time to feel “obligated” to hire a certain Realtor because you feel you “owe them” the business. Nor is it a good idea to go through the “deep discount agent”.
