Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of June 19, 1865, when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to enforce the end of slavery—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Today, we honor that moment in history and celebrate the strength, culture, and resilience of Black communities.
In observance of the holiday, our office will be closed on June 19. We’ll reopen on Monday, June 22.
We hope everyone has a meaningful and reflective Juneteenth.
