Flock cameras can photograph a vehicle, read its license plate, and alert police when the plate has been connected to a stolen vehicle, warrant, or investigation.

But a computer-generated hit is not infallible proof. Plates can be misread, alerts can be outdated, and identifying a vehicle does not necessarily identify its driver. Police must also have sufficient legal justification for the stop, detention, search, and arrest that follow.
