AMG Legal today filed a cutting-edge Motion to Dismiss a defamation lawsuit filed in Oakland County Circuit Court by the Lyon Township Supervisor against our client. To our knowledge, this motion is only the second across the state to be filed under Michigan’s new Uniform Public Expression Protection Act. The new Act protects Michiganders from abusive lawsuits designed to silence and intimidate people who exercise their right to freedom of speech. You can count on AMG to defend your First Amendment rights (and include memes in the legal briefs).
