This is a consistent and continuous problem in the DV arena. There are partners who weaponize the system and it goes without punishment usually.

The balance by law enforcement and prosecution is that you want to get the DV perps, but you cannot chill the reporting process for actual victims and punishing false reports can also be weaponized.

Think, "You see what they did to this person who falsely reported, that's what will happen to you." Then a real victim will be silenced.

It's a large problem we never talk about. We need to talk about this.

This guy embodies the merits of being compassionate, kind, understanding, and forgiving. He is a model for what good judges are like and if ever I am insane enough to try and wear that robe, I would be happy if I were half as decent on the stand as he.

Fight the good fight, Judge Frank Caprio, and do not be kind this day. Drop the gavel on that curse called cancer, and shatter the sound block while you're at it.

It's pretty clear they are just trying to wait this out, for it to blow over. Keep up the pressure on SCOTUS. All lawyers and justices should have something looking over them.

Got a great opportunity to fight off the Florida Red Flag Law for a client today. While the motives of this law are great, the ex*****on is not only poor but very arguably unconstitutional under both the US and Florida Constitution.

The Florida Legislative branch needs to work in a bipartisan manner to fix this abomination of a statute and create a working (read "Constitutional") solution that allows a "red flag" to be thrown up so everybody can stay safe while allowing the defendant to protect his or her rights in both the civil and criminal arena.

Florida can do so much better than this.
