What an incredible milestone, and one that means so much to me.

Estate planning is deeply personal. The people who come into my office are trusting me with important decisions about their families, their wishes, and their futures. Knowing that so many clients have taken the time to share a positive experience is something I never take for granted.

Today, I’m celebrating my 100th five-star review, but more than anything, I’m feeling grateful.

A lot of professionals I work with think a Power of Attorney is something they’ll need later in life. But some of the busiest years of your life may be exactly when having one matters most.

A Durable Power of Attorney allows you to choose someone you trust to handle certain financial and legal matters on your behalf—and it can continue to provide that authority if you become incapacitated.

It’s not about age. It’s about having a plan.

I see this all the time: families think their estate plan is taken care of because they signed documents years ago. But life changes. Children grow up. Assets change. Relationships evolve. And the plan you created in 2015 may no longer reflect what you want today.

August is National Make-A-Will Month, making it a good time to review what you have in place and make sure it still fits your life, your family, and your wishes.

Start by taking inventory of your assets, reviewing your beneficiaries, confirming guardians for minor children, and thinking about the legacy you want to leave.

August is Make-A-Will Month, which is as good a reason as any to stop deferring the thing you already know matters.

If you're a Florida homeowner or retiree, here's where to start:

✓ Inventory your assets — real estate, investments, accounts
✓ Name guardians — for minor children, and for yourself if you can't speak for yourself
✓ Review beneficiaries on every account
✓ Confirm your documents still say what you actually want

Most people put off estate planning because it feels like something that requires a free afternoon and a law degree.

It doesn't.

A family came in recently not knowing where to start. They just knew they wanted their kids taken care of and their home to pass to them without a trip through probate court. So we sat down and worked out what they actually needed — a will, a trust, powers of attorney, a healthcare directive. Plain English. No pressure, no rush.

They left with a plan that fits their life right now, and one that can change as their life does. That's what I mean by Life-stage Estate Planning.
