🚨 Attention Guardians of a person over 60 and/or person with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and related disorders. 🚨

New law requires additional training for guardians of a person over 60 and/or person with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and related disorders.
Requirement
• 1-hour online training to satisfy this requirement.
• File certificate of completion with court.
Training Deadlines
• New guardians must complete the training within six 6) months of their appointment and annually thereafter.
• Current guardians must complete the training no later than September 1, 2026, and annually thereafter.
Failure to comply may result in your removal as guardian.

Training can be completed through the JBCC Guardianship Training Page:

Texas certified guardians, Texas guardians appointed prior to 06/01/18, Texas attorneys, and corporate fiduciaries are exempt from the training requirement.
