When I (Josh) went down earlier this week and couldn’t work, Tom jumped in like Superman and did his very first adoption for this amazing family. Turns out to be an extra special day. Juvenile law can be extremely difficult and sad. Hard decisions that affect families have to be made. That beautiful little girl I’m holding is my client and those other two are her loving and hard working parents. At the beginning of this case I made a hard decision to request that the Court remove her from her parents which it did. To say these two parents buckled up and worked hard is an understatement and today my amazing client is going home with them. I rarely get thanks from parents, but the father came to me after the hearing today, shook my hand and said, “Thank you for taking her from us and thank you for returning her.” It was one of the best compliments I have received in 20 years. But these parents deserve so much credit. They agreed to this posts because they wanted to be an encouragement to others. None of this could have been possible without God. Without a doubt today was a good day.

You have probably heard the phrase, “It takes a village.” Well, that was certainly true for these fine clients. A truly remarkable set of grandparents stepping up for their grandaughter. An absolutely great day helping out these folks. A huge shout out to CASA for their continued support of all children. I love helping children find permanency and safety! Thankful to God for days like these and thankful to some pretty remarkable clients!
