If you have to be in Court late on a Friday it’s at least nice to look out the Courthouse window and see this view.

This is what it is all about! Hard fought custody case for a deserving Dad. So happy for him. God’s hand was all over this one giving persistence and patience throughout. Huge shoutout to my team as well that supported this effort throughout.

When I (Josh) went down earlier this week and couldn’t work, Tom jumped in like Superman and did his very first adoption for this amazing family. Congratulations Southerland family on making legal what was already in place. Praise God this got done! What a blessing to receive these pictures from Tom telling me it was complete.

Turns out to be an extra special day. Juvenile law can be extremely difficult and sad. Hard decisions that affect families have to be made. That beautiful little girl I’m holding is my client and those other two are her loving and hard working parents. At the beginning of this case I made a hard decision to request that the Court remove her from her parents which it did. To say these two parents buckled up and worked hard is an understatement and today my amazing client is going home with them. I rarely get thanks from parents, but the father came to me after the hearing today, shook my hand and said, “Thank you for taking her from us and thank you for returning her.” It was one of the best compliments I have received in 20 years. But these parents deserve so much credit. They agreed to this posts because they wanted to be an encouragement to others. None of this could have been possible without God. Without a doubt today was a good day.

In a job full of conflict, these days are treasured. Congratulations to the Reece family! It is always so special and such a blessing from God to see a family legally become what they already are. Thank you so much for the opportunity to be a small part of this amazing day.
