King Hall Negotiations Team The King Hall Negotiations Team (KHNT) was founded to recognize the utility of alternative dispute resolution skills as they relate to legal practice.

The King Hall Negotiations Team organizes and hosts multiple events throughout the year that further the development of ADR skills and awareness within the law school community, including the annual King Hall Negotiations Intra-School Competition. KHNT works to educate and train students on the arts of negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and client counseling pertaining to a wide range of situati

ons including contract disputes, public relations management, and family dispute resolution. By regularly hosting speakers and skills training workshops from throughout the legal profession, students, faculty, and guests engage in educational lectures and discussions. Further, organizing biannual intraschool competitions and preparing team members for national competitions provides invaluable practical skills training to current King Hall students.

Congratulations to Aemen Shahbaz and Max Davis, both 2Ls, for competing at the ABA Client Counseling National Championship during the weekend of March 15-16 at LSU School of Law ⚖️ They advanced to nationals after winning their regional competition in February. Michaela Gines, 3L and one of KHNT’s External Competitions Chairs, again traveled with them as coach.

The dynamic duo ultimately placed in the top 10 out of 86 teams competing nationally during the 2023-2024 season. Let’s give a big round of applause for Aemen and Max! 👏🏼✨💙

During the weekend of 2/22-2/23, Ethan Hicks (‘24) and Garrett Vena (‘24) represented KHNT at the California Sports Lawyer Negotiation Competition at the Rose Bowl Stadium. The competition covered topics such as use of AI in entertainment and purchasing a professional sports franchise. They did an outstanding job, placing 6th in the competition.
