FinCEN’s new rules started March 1, 2026, to help curb money laundering in home deals.

Expect possible extra fees for estate planning, LLCs, transfers, or closings due to required beneficial ownership reporting.

Big penalties for skipping it. Filing must take place within 30 days and this requires sharing private info with the gov.

Exempt: Financed sales, individual transfers, gifts to your revocable trust, death/divorce-related moves. Stay savvy and don’be mad at the messenger! 😉
