Most of my business comes from referrals, so itās rare that I end up with clients who know nothing about me, but if this is you (we like to call you āa cold leadā), and youāre thinking about hiring me as your realtor, there are a few things you should know.
First, Iām Jared, a real estate agent who specializes in the Clovis, CA area. I tend to attract young families as clients, perhaps because thatās where I am in my own life and as a direct result of the area I serve. Clovis is seriously a mecca of excellence, especially so for families with kids.
Clovis has been my home since I was 7 and I never left because I love the community and knew that raising a family here was what I wanted to do.
If youāre one of those people who knew what you wanted to be āwhen you grew upā, consider yourself lucky. I had no intention of becoming a realtor, but in 2006 I became interested in investing in real estate and I thought itād be smart to get my license and learn from the ground up.
It sounds cliche, but I was immediately captivated by the idea of helping people lay claim to a piece of land that would host their lives for the next however many years. The vessel that would hold the memories made, silently observing milestones come and gone, and the place theyād feel safe and loved.
Cue sentimental music and tearsā¦
Itās true though - no matter how you look at it, this job involves sentimental stuff and being that Iām somewhat of a people person (OK, A LOT OF A PEOPLE PERSON), I have undoubtedly fallen in love with this work. Building relationships while working with people is my natural habitat and the business of making deals is my natural talent.
The People I Like to Person With
That sounds totally wrong and is definitely grammatically incorrect, but it makes total sense. Imagine driving around in a car with a relative stranger for 6 million hours, inviting them into your future home, and crying in front of them (crying is not a requirement, but it happens and itās OK)... You want them to be a good person, a good conversationalist, and extremely confident in what theyāre doing, right?
As a self-professed people person with a sharp mind for business, youāre getting the best of both worlds with Jared Kim (talking about yourself in the 3rd person is a sign of high intelligence) and youāll likely end up with a friend when itās all said and done. Or at least someone who keeps in touch, checks in on you, and cares about your ālife after the dealā.
Peopling is my thing. Thatās why I love this job.
Balancing Family And Job
Aside from peopling, flexibility is the next best perk. How many people do you know who have the freedom of flexibility? Iām talking family and job. I have the flexibility to go watch my kids try their hand at acting in the school play or to cart them back and forth from the pool in summer all while making an excellent living.
I can tend to my personal affairs in the middle of a work day without squandering valuable PTO or asking for permission - donāt get me wrong, itās not a stress-free avocation, but the perks are legit. Iām grateful for the time I get to spend with my family in addition to having a career I wouldnāt change for anything.
You, Me, And The End Of The Day
At the end of the day and when the deal is done, youāll know for certain that you picked someone who is passionate about what he does, cares very much about your happiness and satisfaction, and has ninja-like savvy when it comes to making deals. Whether youāre a ācold leadā, a referral, or somewhere in between, you can expect all of the attention you need, when you need it.
