We currently have 2 very active fires in our area; one in the Tracy Rd area outside of Creston and another just north of Mielke Rd at Rocklyn. There are multiple fire agencies and air support working these fires. We are receiving reports of unauthorized vehicles in these areas and ask that you stay out of these areas and allow firefighters and air support to do their jobs to get these fires under control and put out.

The body of the missing swimmer has been recovered. The identity and exact age of the swimmer has not been released. No further details will be released pending investigation.

Thank you to the Wilbur Ambulance, Colville Tribal Dive Team and Marine Unit, Lifeflight, Fairchild 36th Rescue Squad, National Park Service Rangers and Spokane County Sheriff's Office Air 1 for all of your efforts as well as the numerous citizens and campers that offered their support.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends at this very difficult time.

The search for the missing swimmer has resumed, again, please avoid the area of the emergency resources on scene. Please use caution if in the area of Keller Ferry on Lake Roosevelt: Multiple agencies and resources are in the area of Keller Ferry Campground searching for a possible missing swimmer. These resources include marine units and aircraft and we ask that you please keep distance from emergency resources as strong winds are creating difficult search conditions and we want to keep everyone safe.

We will update only when we have more information to available.

Search operations for the missing swimmer have been suspended for the evening, but will resume in the morning. Please remain cautious if you are in the area so our emergency responders can safely do their jobs.

LCSO has issued a Level 1 Evacuation notice, Stay informed, Have a plan and Be prepared to move. This is a Level 1 evacuation notice being sent due to a fire in the Egypt / Egypt Loop Rd area, please be prepared to leave the area if needed. This may effect the Seven Bays, Deer Meadows and Hawk Creek Rd areas. Further notices will be coming. If you have an emergency, call 911.
