Visitation and funeral arrangements for Dennis Burgin will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Neal and Summers Funeral Home in Martinsville, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11am - 1pm. Services start at 1pm, then he will be laid to rest at Hall Cemetery.

Just wanted to let everyone know that "Danville" Dennis Burgin passed away on September 2, 2024, with his family members at his side. Dennis was 71. As many of you know, for many decades Dennis was the hitchhiking king of Indiana. There wasn't a road, town or city that he did not know. Before Dennis moved to Martinsville (about 15-20 years ago) he lived in Danville. Even after he moved to Martinsville to be closer to family, Dennis would still visit us in Danville frequenting the many business owners that he had come to know, sometimes hawking his trademark wares of pencils, notepads, and used lightbulbs. For those of us who knew him well, he has a sweet disposition. He was able to live independently in Martinsville up until a few years ago when his knees gave out and he could no longer care for himself. He spent the last couple of years in a nursing home in Morgantown. A funeral service will be held in Martinsville, most likely this week. When I get the details, I will post them. I firmly believe that God reserved a special room in Heaven for him. We will miss you.
