One of the biggest mistakes families make isn’t that they don’t care… it’s that they don’t know what they’re looking at.

I’ve seen people receive hundreds, or even thousands, of pages of discovery, prison records, medical records, or investigative reports and immediately start searching for the “smoking gun.”

But that’s rarely how the truth works.

The truth is usually hidden in timelines.

In inconsistencies.

In missing pages.

In policy violations.

In what isn’t documented.

Learning to read a case file is different from simply reading documents.

That’s why I tell people: Don’t just collect records. Learn what the records are trying to tell you.

Every page has a purpose.

Every omission tells a story.

Sometimes the answers aren’t in what was written.

Sometimes they’re in what should have been.

That’s the work I love.

Since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved solving puzzles and standing up for people. That passion never left me, it became my career.

Every workplace I’ve been a part of taught me something, but I also found myself improving systems, organizing chaos, and helping people navigate complicated situations with confidence.

After years of working in the legal field, including eight years supporting the Public Defender’s Office, I realized something: my heart has always been the same.
