According to a new national study by Vivint, two of our very own Collin County cities ranked among the safest places in America for new homeowners!

🥈 McKinney, Texas: #2 in the nation

🏅 Frisco, Texas: #4 in the nation

And let’s not overlook Plano, coming in at #11!

The study evaluated 93 U.S. cities, considering property crime, recent movers, younger homeowners, and home security industry employment.

As a real estate broker, I always remind buyers that purchasing a home is about more than the house itself. It’s about understanding the community, the market, and the long-term investment you’re making.

Before We Could Sell the Dream, We Had to Fight for the Right to Participate. 🏡✊🏾

There was a time when Black real estate professionals faced barriers to entering the very industry we now help lead.

In 1947, Black real estate professionals founded the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), creating opportunities for representation, advocacy, and economic empowerment.

Today, we sell luxury homes, own brokerages, develop communities, educate future professionals, and help families build generational wealth.

But we must never forget those who helped open the doors.

As a Black woman, attorney, real estate broker, and instructor, I understand that our presence in this industry is more than a profession. It’s part of a legacy.

And that history deserves to be told all year long, not just during Black History Month.

We didn’t just earn a seat at the table. We helped build one. 👑

🚨 DID YOU KNOW NEW REAL ESTATE AGENTS EARN A MEDIAN OF JUST $8,000 A YEAR?

YES. You read that correctly. $8,000. ANNUALLY. BEFORE BUSINESS EXPENSES.

According to the National Association of REALTORS® 2026 Member Profile, agents with two years or less of experience reported median annual gross real estate income of just $8,000 and median production of only TWO transaction sides in 2025.

Meanwhile, we’re watching billion-dollar brokerage mergers, commission caps, revenue-sharing programs, and stock incentives reshape the industry.

So here’s my question:

Are we building better opportunities for real estate agents, or just bigger brokerage companies?

And what does all this mean for independent brokers, homebuyers, and sellers?

After more than 25 years in real estate, I have some thoughts.
