Demetrize Carter, the man shot by police during the 2023 Choctaw High School football game shooting, has filed a federal lawsuit claiming his constitutional rights were violated because he posed no threat when an officer shot him.

We are DISAPPOINTED in the way Oklahoma District Attorney Vicki Behenna fails to file criminal charges on Oklahoma County police officers who unlawfully violate the individual rights of citizens. Her office fails to be transparent to the victims, their families, citizens of OK County, and students/teachers who attend football games in this county!

We are OPTIMISTIC that the people of Oklahoma County will see the civil wrongs here and make the appropriate decision at trial!

Still praying for Demetrize Carter’s healing. Praying for the family of Cordae who was tragically taken away from us on 8/25/2023 at this football game.

Praying for the family and friends of the Dallas Police Department Officer killed this morning.

Praying also for the other 2 officers who sustained gunshots too.

Praying for all those that are victims of gun violence. This is a sad day.

Sources tell WFAA that a chase ensued in the wake of the shooting and that a suspect was later fatally shot in Lewisville.

My GOOD friend, law school classmate, and colleague was killed recently. Julio J Paredes assisted me on many projects while we both started our firms. Julio was 50 years old just like me—we shared many other similarities. This is tough! Praying for his wife, 5 children, his parents, and his other family and friends!

Julio Paredes died July 24 after attending a fair in Durango, Mexico, according to Maria Aguilar, a community organizer who worked with Paredes in North Texas.

While we grieve the loss of U.S. Air Force SrA Roger Fortson, 23-years old, please keep the family of U.S. Army PFC Katia Duenas-Aguilar also 23-years old who was murdered at her home near Ft. Campbell, Kentucky in your prayers.

The Clarksville Police Department responded to an ambulance call on Saturday to Duenas-Aguilar’s residence, where she was found deceased.
