Not every personal injury lawyer can say they’ve worked on a drilling rig in South Texas… but I can.
Before law school, I was a drilling fluid engineer in the oil field — hard hat, steel-toe boots, and coveralls were part of my daily uniform. I even trained on, and became certified to operate, blowout preventers (BOPs) — the massive safety systems designed to stop uncontrolled well blowouts.
We practiced on a simulator that recreated real-life drilling emergencies, because in the oil field, you have to be ready for anything.
That experience taught me more than just technical skills — it taught me how high the stakes can be when safety is on the line. Today, I bring that same mindset to my law practice, fighting for those whose lives have been upended by unsafe practices and preventable accidents.
📍 From the oil patch to the courtroom — I’ve been where the danger is, and I know what’s at stake.
