Luis Miguel Arango Petrocchi is the son of immigrant parents from Monterrey and Veracruz, Mexico. As the proud son of Mexican immigrants, Luis Miguel is a native, fluent Spanish speaker. Prior to starting his own practice, he served as the Senior Program Manager at an immigration nonprofit, where he managed a team dedicated to assisting lawful permanent residents become U.S. citizens. He also represents clients in removal (deportation) proceedings before the Dallas Immigration Court, and practices all other areas of immigration law. Luis Miguel graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas in 2004 before receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Southern Methodist University in 2007. He later received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2012. While attending the OU College of Law, he earned the American Jurisprudence Award in the study of Legal Research, Writing and Advocacy. He was also awarded the Outstanding Student Pro Bono Award and Cindy Foley Criminal Defense Award for his dedication and zealous representation of immigrants in criminal cases. In addition to his immigration program management experience, Luis Miguel served as Adjunct Professor of Legal Studies at Dallas College, where he taught courses in Immigration Law and Legal Research & Writing. He works closely with the City of Dallas Office of Welcoming Communities and Immigrant Affairs, and served as Chair of the Civic Engagement Task Force on Welcoming Communities.
