We had the privilege of representing a parent in the extremely difficult situation of seeking emergency authority on behalf of their adult child who is struggling with mental health issues, and we're proud to announce that we were able to get the parent the authority they need to help their adult child with their medical treatment.

We're grateful to serve families experiencing mental health crises.

On grief:

“You can and will be sad, and happy.

You’ll be grieving, and able to love, in the same year, or week. The same breath.

We need to remember that a grieving person is going to laugh again and smile again.

Yes, absolutely, they are going to move forward.

But that doesn’t mean that they’ve moved on.”

Being an advocate - especially for the elderly - is not always glamorous.
Today, our team is at Kennestone hospital, during the lockdown, to conduct a hearing regarding the medical, personal, and financial decisions of an elderly person. The hearing is by Zoom. But we’re here, because we didn’t find it fair to ask an elderly individual to participate in a hearing on a technology platform they don’t use regularly without their lawyer by their side. We’re blessed to be the helpers, y’all.

IT’S *FINALLY* TIME!
I finally get to tell you all about the BIG, EXCITING thing that I’ve been planning for, dreaming of, and WORKING MY BUTT OFF to achieve! I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you who has taken the time out of their day to follow along with me for the last week!! You guys ROCK, and I’m lucky to know each of you.
"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough." —Mae West.
I wouldn’t be here today, standing on the precipice of my DREAM BECOMING A REALITY without the five things I’ve told you about this week: God, my family, my friends, my collective life and professional experience, and EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU. My colleagues, coworkers, neighbors, friends, and my family. So, THANK YOU for the role you have played in helping me reach this point!
Today, on the third anniversary of the opening of Georgia Probate Lawyers, I’m SO proud and SO humbled to introduce the *ROCKSTAR* team that has allowed the firm to help hundreds of families, and which will allow us to help HUNDREDS MORE. What a dream come true! What a chance to be a blessing to so many more families!
In no particular order, let’s introduce them:
Rachel Colledge, Attorney
Melise Mitcheltree, Case Coordinator
Samantha Harding, Case Coordinator
Kim Shupert, Client Services Team
Kristin Sikorski, Client Services Team
Bailey Maudlin, Director of Client Services
Stephanie Samdahl, Firm Administrator
Oh yeah, and me, Mandy Moyer.
We will keep providing responsive, and COMPASSIONATE, representation to families dealing with the death, disability, or aging of a loved one.

As you know, I’ve got some BIG news to share with you soon! But before we talk about that, I want to spend some time talking about how this big, new EXCITING thing is even possible.
“Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you; spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life." - Amy Poehler
If you’ve been following along, you know I’ve already covered FOUR things that make my next adventure (that I finally get to TELL YOU ABOUT TOMORROW!) possible: God, my family, my friends, and my collective life and professional experience to this point. Today, I’m here to tell you about one more thing that has led me to this point. Are you ready? The last thing that makes this BIG, EXCITING crazy opportunity/adventure/DREAM possible is…
YOU.
I find myself, through an unclear combination of intention, serendipity, and luck, and undoubtedly all part of God’s clear path for my life, surrounded by some of the MOST freaking AMAZING people that could ever be. Whether you are my colleague, my coworker, my neighbor, my friend, my family member, if we’re in touch on a somewhat regular basis, be it on Facebook, in person, by email, by text…. know this: you have, and are, INSPIRING ME to be better, live fuller, reach higher.
I really want that to sink in.
You, in living your life, and being yourself, are impacting me in a real and sincere way.
I consider myself lucky to know you. I appreciate the support you’ve offered me so far, and I am willing to help you as you’ve helped me. I am here to celebrate with you as you’ve been celebrating with me. I’ll pick you up when you’re down, just like you’ve done for me. Whether it’s talking or screaming, laughing or crying, I’m here for it. Life is short, and I want to leave this world knowing that I’ve had impacted the lives of those around me in a positive, meaningful way.
After all, we’re all in this together, right?

As you know by now, I’ve got some BIG news to share with you soon! But before we talk about that, I want to spend some time talking about how this big, new EXCITING thing is even possible.
“Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.” - Helen Keller
Admittedly, I’ve been blessed with a life that really hasn’t been that hard. Of course, “hard” is a relative word, and there have been times in my life when I felt like things were going my way, and times when I’ve felt that they weren’t.
Many of those times that I’ve felt that things weren’t going my way have been more recent. Nothing major happened… just life. Just small things. Piling up on me. Just the day in, day out drudgery of routine, the feeling like there must be something more to it, to LIFE, but being unable to figure out what that “something” is, or how to reach it. After all, I’ve always been an old soul, advanced for my age… call it a “midlife” crisis (though I hope I’m not yet at halfway)! Whatever the cause of or name for my discontentment, I have been discontented.
But that time, however uncomfortable it made me to wait and to wallow in it, was not for naught! During that time, I learned, I absorbed, I broke things down to their smallest pieces, and I put them back together again. Pieces of the puzzle slowly fell into place. Whenever I tried to force things together, inevitably it didn’t work. The plan wasn’t ready yet, the path wasn’t plowed. Impatiently, I waited… because, unbeknownst to me, I needed to.
But THE WAIT WAS WORTH IT. Because I’m not the same person now, not anymore. I’m more confident in my abilities, due to the experiences I’ve had and the knowledge I’ve acquired. I know that I can do more, and withstand more, than I realized was possible before. I see solutions where once I saw problems, and opportunities where once I saw fears.
It hasn’t always been easy, though I’ve often wished it had been. But the truth is… every trial and tribulation that’s led me here was 100% worth it because right here is EXACTLY where I want to be.
