A moment of silence for the addict who will pick up for the very first time tonight, not knowing what they are getting themselves into, and for the addict who will pick up for the very last time and never wake up.
FYI, the relapse and overdose rate has increased by 30% since March 2020. Mental health issues related to our lockdown and the pandemic are especially hard for people with depression.

"As a Forensic Nurse Examiner for Crisis Services of North Alabama, we have been providing domestic violence examinations since 2004 and Strangulation exams since 2011 when it became a felony in the state. On average it takes a victim 7 times to make a police report and 7 more incidents before that patient thinks about leaving the abusive situation. 2020, has been difficult for most of us as the pandemic swept through our country. It has also let to victims of domestic violence living in isolation with very volatile situations, our numbers increased dramatically during the lockdown, but our doors stayed open so if the patient was able to seek help we were able to support them medically and emotionally."
